Mission Impossible: the Archaeology of Lampedusa in Three Days. Episode 2

Professor Anthony Bonanno and Dr Ruben Borg will give an account of the visit made by them to Lampedusa in July 2016. They will give an account of surface inspection of very faint circular markings on the ground suggestive of possible prehistoric huts, as well as a preliminary assessment of claimed ‘prehistoric sculptures’ collected by the same person. They will also discuss the vulnerability of coastal heritage structures with particular reference to building and structural typologies on the Island.

Professor Anthony Bonanno, Professor of Archaeology, Department of Classics and Archaeology, University of Malta and Dr Ruben Paul Borg, Architect & Civil Engineer and Senior Lecturer, Faculty for the Built Environment, University of Malta, will be giving a presentation entitled Mission Impossible: the Archaeology of Lampedusa in Three Days. Episode 2 on Wednesday 29 May 2019. The presentation is part of the lecture programme of The Archaeological Society Malta and will be held at 6 pm at the National Museum of Archaeology, Republic Street, Valletta.
